It is with deep sorrow and sadness that the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) learnt about the passing away on 16 July 2021 in Dakar, of Mr. Amadou Lamine Ba, the pioneer Secretary General and Treasurer General of the institution. As a sportsman, the deceased was athlete, basketball player and football player in Senegal’s Foyer France (Jaraaf’s forefather). As a civil servant, had been for his country a highly experienced and skilled Inspector of mass education, Youths and Sports. On the 17th of December 1979, he embarked on a rich diplomatic sports career when he was elected Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Sport in Africa.
