Release : Congratulations to the Egyptian people

The Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa, ANOCA, congratulates the Egyptian people on the outstanding election of His Excellency President Abdel Fatah Al Sissi and the Egyptian Government for the exceptional achievements made for the progress and development of Egypt.

ANOCA thanks the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr Ashraf Sobhy, and NOC Egypt, for allowing the youth of Egypt in general, Egyptian sport and the Olympic Movement in particular, to host the biggest sports event, the “African Games”.

It is with this great aspiration and strong resolve that we, the African Olympic Movement, hand in glove with our counterparts of the African Union, NOC Egypt and the Games Organising Committee, look forward to demonstrating Africa’s ability to organise Olympic Games qualifiers that will showcase the African continent.

Our talents will shine at the Los Angeles 2028 Games and ANOCA, while congratulating the African Sports Movement, undertakes to spare no effort to meet the expectations of its youth.

This special edition of the African Games, organised jointly by the Republic of Egypt, the African Union and ANOCA, will certainly demonstrate the immense capabilities of this wonderful African country, which is currently pursuing its bid for the 2036 Olympic Games.

ANOCA welcomes the excellent relations with the African Union and the Egyptian Government and confirms that it is getting mobilised for the success of the forthcoming African Games of 2027 in Cairo.

ANOCA Executive Committee members confirm that they will do their utmost to secure the support of the IOC and the various international federations to give the forthcoming 2027 African Games their due international dimension.

Long live Africa!
Long live Egypt!
Long live the African Sports Movement!
Long live ANOCA
