The Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) held its 19th ordinary General Assembly on 24 and 25 May 2021.The city of Cairo in Egypt paid host to this meeting which was attended by representatives of the 54 member NOCs. Several items highlighted this General Assembly which was convened according to Article 27.7 of the Constitution of Africa’s sports movement governing body: the opening ceremony, substantial debates, the election of the new Executive Committee, reports and messages from partner organizations. Generally speaking, the African Olympic and sport movement emerged stronger and more united from this meeting for a brighter future of continental sport. In the lines below, we are going to revisit this important event which opens new avenues for this institution.
