Meeting in an Extraordinary General Assembly on 19 June 2026, we, the presidents and representatives of African NOCs,

Mindful of the 45 years of existence of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa, an institution that upholds the values of unity, solidarity and excellence, so cherished by the African Olympic Movement;

Given the remarkable achievements made under the leadership of the Honourable Mustapha BERRAF since his accession to the helm of ANOCA, notably the consolidation of unity amongst the 54 NOCs, sports infrastructure development, training of leaders, increased support for athletes, and Africa’s growing influence on the global sports stage;

Considering his forward-looking and unifying vision, which is reflected in the building of a strong, resilient Olympic Africa that makes its youth a focal concern and remains faithful to the ideals of Pierre de Coubertin;

Taking into account his unwavering commitment, his dedication, his integrity and his proven ability to federate, build, move forward, succeed and unite the entire African Olympic family;

Convinced that his continued leadership is essential to meeting future challenges and ensuring the sustainable prosperity of sport;

Hereby unanimously decide as follows:

Article 1: To give our unconditional, full and complete support to the candidacy of the Honourable Mustapha BERRAF for the post of ANOC President.

Article 2: We commend his decisive contribution to the cause of Olympism and reaffirm our confidence in his ability to lead ANOC to further successes.

Article 3: We undertake to mobilise our respective delegations to ensure he wins the forthcoming elections.

Article 4: We hereby mandate the Secretary General of ANOCA to forward this motion to the relevant ANOC and IOC bodies, while encouraging all sister NOCs of the other continents to support this African candidacy.
