Subject: Our condolences
I wish to express the sincere condolences of the entire African Olympic and sports Movement to the Madagascar Olympic and sports family following the unfortunate stampede that took place at the entrance to Mahamasina Stadium, during the opening ceremony of the 11th Indian Ocean Island Games.
In these trying times, all ANOCA Executive Committee members join me in expressing our sympathy and support to all families of the victims.
We are deeply saddened by this event, and you can rest assured that the entire African continent stands with you in solidarity and of course shares in your misfortune.
