ANOCA President on working visit to CAR

The President of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA), Mustapha Berraf was on a working visit to the Central African Republic from 10 to 14 February 2020. He was invited by the country’s authorities. ANOCA Newsletter brings you the highlights of that visit of the most senior official of the supreme governing body of the African Olympic and Sports Movement.

ANOCA President meets with CAR authorities

During his visit to the Central African Republic, the President of ANOCA was received in audience by the Head of State, His Excellency Prof Faustin Archange Touadera. During the exchange, President Berraf advocated for more support for Central African sport. The Head of State promised his guest that he would pay special attention to the National Sports Movement because in his view, sport is a powerful tool for promoting the lasting peace so much sought-after in his country. He also promised to include the National Fund for the Development of Sport in the Central African Republic in the finance law. The ANOCA President also paid courtesy calls respectively on the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Firmin Ngrebada and the President of the National Assembly, Hon. Laurent Ngon-Baba.

On either occasion, the exchanges with the Central African leaders focused on the autonomy of the Olympic and Sports Movement, the setting up of a national sports development fund and the Olympic Truce.
