Promotion :ANOCA President congratulates William Blick, Aïcha Garad Ali and Beatrice Allen

After William Blick, Aïcha Garad Ali and Beatrice Allen were honoured by the 136th IOC Session, President Mustapha Berraf sent them congratulatory messages on behalf of ANOCA.

In a message to William Frederick Blick, President of NOC Uganda, who moved from the status of member representing an NOC to that of individual member the President of ANOCA wrote: “I am highly honoured to extend to you our sincere and warm congratulations on your election as an individual member of the International Olympic Committee. This is eloquent testimony to the quality of your contribution to the development of sport and Olympism in Africa and the world at large.”

It is in this same spirit that the President Beraff congratulated Djibouti’s Aïcha Garad Ali on her reappointment for an eight-year term. “A well-deserved mark of confidence for this African woman, who is the pride of the entire continent.

As for Beatrice Allen appointed Honorary IOC Member, ANOCA acknowledges with great admiration the services she has rendered to the Olympic movement as a whole and to the African sports movement in particular through her long-standing commitment to sport development: “On behalf of the ANOCA family, we are pleased with your continued service to sport and wish you success in your new role as an Honorary Member of the IOC,” Berraf said.
